Racial Uproar in Arizona
(Sent in by Kujiiro, article extract from Wonkette.com)
"Hard to find even the Gallows Humor in this story, so maybe we won’t even try. Maybe it’s time to admit that large chunks of America are in the hands of unreconstructed racists and vulgar idiots, and that the popular election of a black man as president just might’ve pushed these furious, economically doomed old white people into a final rage that is going to end very, very badly. Ready? Here you go: An Arizona elementary school mural featuring the faces of kids who attend the school has been the subject of constant daytime drive-by racist screaming, from adults, as well as a radio talk-show campaign (by an actual city councilman, who has an AM talk-radio show) to remove the black student’s face from the mural, and now the school principal has ordered the faces of the Latino and Black students pictured on the school wall to be repainted as light-skinned children."
Obese Kookaburra makes the News
A Kookaburra (A native Australian bird species similar to the king fisher) at Sydney Taronga Zoo has been hanging out areound the barbeques, hoping to catch a piece of sausage from locals cooking on a day out.
She's been largely successful...so successful in fact that she is now obese weighing in at 140% of a normal birds weight.
She can't resis the tasty sausage, and to avoid her getting killed by local dogs, so Taronga Zoo is sending her to Birdie boot camp

Discussion Topic:
Improving your House Meets

A house meet is a gathering of like minded people, usually to hang out, have some drinks and chat. Make some friends or just network. But housemeets can sometimes be boring, and too many in quick succession can become boring or repeditive. So this episode we talk about ways to improve your house meets. Art Jam ideas, things to do, things not to do.
So why don't you let everyone else know what makes your meets special? Things you do that improve them, things you avoid to make sure they don't suck
This is a two part topic, so next episode we're going to be discussing out-side meets. Parks, pubs, galleries etc.
