Curiosity rover lands on mars.

Despite all the hoo-rah about the recent London Olympics, NASA and science at large has had a great vistory with the new ‘Curiosity’ Mars rover successfully landing on the red plantet. Low quality images of the landing are available with a higher resolution video being beamed at us around critical information exchanges.

Olympic games 2012 London has begin.. but whats with the Mascots?

The London Olympics have been going well, and all our respective athletes have been trying their hardest to prove their mettle against each other. We could talk about that like everyone else does, but we did want to take an aside and comment on the…strange…choice for the designs of the Olympic mascots this year (Also the, as Kraden believes, lazy reason behind their design).

Living in a house with a dog, protects against Asthma (Keio)

Researchers from the University of California, San Francisco, recenlty presented their findings at the 2012 General Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology.

“In this study we found that feeding mice house dust from homes that have dogs present protected them against a childhood airway infectious agent, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). RSV infection is common in infants and can manifest as mild to severe respiratory symptoms. Severe infection in infancy is associated with a higher risk of developing childhood asthma,” says Kei Fujimura, a researcher on the study.

Disagreeable people prefer aggressive dogs (Keio)

Aggressive dog ownership is not always a sign of attempted dominance or actual delinquency. A study carried out at the University of Leicester’s School of Psychology has found that younger people who are disagreeable are more likely to prefer aggressive dogs, confirming the conventional wisdom that dogs match the personality of their owners.
