This is an article sent to us from a recent TV spot in the UK for a site called Babelgum . It features the London furry \ Anthro culture group with their own stories about existence in and around the fandom. Well worth a look.
For many young people the pressures of everyday life can be overwhelming. For a minority, adopting a ‘Fursona’ provides the creative outlet and network of like-minded people for which they are looking.
The Furry community is a growing scene dedicated to anthropomorphism, otherwise known as the idea of giving human traits to animals. Furries choose their suits to reflect their personality and some even create their own species by combining animals, such as the Cabbit, (a combination of a cat and rabbit), while others wear traditional suits that resemble horses, lobsters and dogs. Originating at a U.S. science convention in 1980, Furries now meet regularly in central London as well as around the world to socialize and roam their cities together.
