Frequently asked questions
We get asked a few questions quite a lot. In fact we got asked them enough to make a FAQ section that we never thought we'd ever need.
Table of Contents
- Can I submit a segment?
- Yes you can! Feel free to send in your segments or little audio bits as we do play listeners segments and audio files on the show. However please be aware that you will need to provide a segment/Audio bit of a satisfactory quality to line up with the rest of the show.
- So since you've played my segment it means I'm on the team?
- No - submitting a segment does not automatically make you a resident. We only accept new regular segments at the end of a season if there's an open slot. However we are more likely to play a segment from someone we've drilled in the past than someone who hasn't refined their work yet. To get a regular slot you must continually contribute segments in a regular fashion, and they must be of a sufficient quality.
- I’m confused who are the hosts and who are the residents and what do they do?
- Well the hosts consist of Kraden, Kell, Carnival and Jeneara. We are the driving force behind the show and as such are responsible for pulling it all together, Making ACTFur related decisions and general craziness.
- The current residents are Fenris, Ray Liehm, Nanakii, Koneko and Shirou. They are our yummy toppings on the ACTFur pizza giving it a little bit of extra flavour and love. They each provide us with a segment to spice up ACTFur and entertain its listeners.
- Can I reserve an area to do a segment on?
- No. We will not restrict or hold any areas for anyone. You want to do a segment on something. Then do it and submit it. We can’t tell other people not to do it as well too.
- Just because somebody has already done it doesn’t mean you can’t as well. We all love variety, but its nice to get a different view on a subject too. So feel free to send us your segments whatever it’s on (as long as it’s not too adult- No Porn reviews thank you!) and please don’t get upset if someone else does something similar.
- How come you didn’t read out my E-mail/Letter/Comment on the show?
- This is a tough one. We don't have time on the show to read out all those letters. In fact, we don't have time in our own lives to answer each and every letter personally either - we'd really like to, but we have jobs that aren't ACTFur. Each piece of mail is read and please don’t think just because we don’t talk about it on the show that we haven’t read it. We get so much mail it makes it impossible for us to read out and reply to all but we work hard on making sure each piece is read by at least one of us, if not more. We are all very busy in our lives and that’s even before we add the Podcast into the mix but we understand that you are too and have taken the time and effort to contact us and we do appreciative it.
- I think I'm interesting, interview me fools!
- Sure! We love interviewing interesting people! Send us an email outlining what you do that's so awesome, and why our listeners want to hear about you. We'll let you know if we want you on the show.
- I think someone else is interesting, interview them
- Suggested interviews are always great, especially if they're interested too
- Can I advertise my event\item\meet\hamster on your show?
- It's the founding ACTFur ethos that we are completely, totally, and unashamedly FOR SALE. We'll say anything, about anything, if the price is right: our love, loyalty and souls can be bought! Ask us if you're interested. Of course, small shout-outs to peeps we love are complimentary.
- You guys expressed worldviews that I personally disagree with, and said my favourite band sucks! You should stop podcasting.
- Raarrr! We are dangerous people with dangerous ideas that have been known to EAT lesser opinions that stand in their way! We are contrary and carnivorous, and shamelessly opinionated. We cannot be negotiated or reasoned with (except for Kell - he likes that kind of thing). However, if you've got the itch and a mind to make yourself heard, why not send us a letter or segment telling it how it really is? We're game - if it's good, we'll even play it on the show. Power to the people! Viva la revolution!"
